Botox is a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the facial muscles responsible for expression lines. When those muscles are relaxed, the skin above them smooths out and lines that have formed from years of repeated movement soften or disappear. It does not fill volume or change bone structure, it addresses dynamic lines caused by movement.

Michael, our licensed Nurse Practitioner, assesses your facial muscle activity before placing any units so the dose is calibrated to your specific anatomy. Results take 3 to 7 days to appear as muscle activity gradually reduces. Full results visible at 2 weeks. Most patients return every 3 to 4 months.
Horizontal lines across the forehead that appear when you raise your eyebrows. These are the most visible lines at rest for many patients and typically the first area people seek treatment for. Dose is calibrated carefully to soften lines while preserving natural brow movement.
The vertical lines between the eyebrows, sometimes called the 11s, that form from squinting, concentrating, or expressing frustration. These can make a rested face appear tense. Treating this area is one of the most impactful changes a patient can make for overall facial expression at rest.
The lines that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint. Because these are bilateral, treated on both sides, they require units on both sides of the face. Treatment preserves a natural smile while softening the lines that remain at rest between expressions.

Avoid blood thinners including aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment if possible, as these can increase bruising. Arrive with a clean face and no heavy makeup on the treatment areas. Come ready to discuss which areas you want treated and your desired outcome.
Your clinician assesses your facial muscle movement and discusses units and placement before any product is used. Injections are made with a very fine needle. Most patients describe the sensation as a small pinch. The full treatment takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on how many areas are treated.
No downtime. Return to normal activities immediately. Avoid lying down for 4 hours after treatment, avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours, and do not rub or massage the treated areas. Small bumps or mild redness at injection sites typically resolve within 30 minutes. Results begin in 3 to 7 days and are fully visible at 2 weeks.
Your total cost depends on the number of units used at your appointment. We charge $12 per unit. Most patients see results for 3 to 4 months before muscle activity gradually returns and lines begin to reappear. With regular treatment over time many patients find their lines become less pronounced between appointments as the muscles gradually weaken from repeated relaxation. First-time patients often find results last closer to 3 months. Patients who have been treating consistently for a year or more often find results lasting 4 months or longer.
Yes. Many patients treat both areas in a single appointment. If you are interested in lip filler alongside your Botox, mention it when you book so your clinician can allocate appropriate time. Combining treatments in one visit saves you a trip and both can be performed back to back with no issue.
The goal of every treatment at PUUR is to soften lines while preserving natural expression and movement. Overly frozen or unnatural results come from too many units or poor placement. We calibrate dose to your anatomy specifically, which means you should still be able to smile, raise your eyebrows, and express yourself naturally after treatment. Results that look like work done are not the standard we aim for.
Most patients describe the sensation as a brief sharp pinch that lasts less than a second per injection. The needle is very fine and the treatment areas are small.
