Inflammation
Opioid
Swelling, flare-ups

1

Book and Come In

Book online and come in when you are ready. Same-day appointments are usually available. No referral needed and no lengthy intake. Let us know which injection you are considering when you book if you already know.

2

Clinician Consultation

Your clinician reviews your symptoms, current medications, and health history to confirm which injection is appropriate. Takes about 5 to 10 minutes and is included in the price. If the Toradol-only option is appropriate your clinician will administer it; if the MSK combination is better, they will recommend it now.

3

Injection and Relief

Your injection is administered intramuscularly by your licensed clinician. The injection takes about 30 seconds. Most patients begin to feel relief within 30 to 60 minutes as the medication reaches peak absorption. No downtime.

Which injection should I choose?

If your pain is primarily mechanical, a muscle strain, overuse injury, or acute pain without significant swelling, the Toradol injection is usually the right starting point. If your pain involves significant inflammation, joint swelling, or is coming from an inflammatory flare-up, the MSK combination with Dexamethasone addresses both the pain and the inflammatory response driving it. If you are not sure, book and let your clinician advise at check-in. That is exactly what the included consultation is for.

No. Toradol is a non-opioid NSAID and carries no risk of addiction or dependence. It works through the same pathway as ibuprofen but at prescription strength and delivered directly into the bloodstream. It is not a controlled substance.

Toradol is designed for short-term acute pain management, not for regular ongoing use. It is not intended as a chronic pain management solution. The same applies to the MSK combination. If you are dealing with recurring or chronic pain, your clinician can discuss what additional evaluation or referral may be appropriate at your visit.

How quickly does it work?

Intramuscular Toradol typically reaches peak effect within 30 to 60 minutes of injection. Many patients notice meaningful relief before they leave the clinic. Dexamethasone in the MSK combination has a slightly different timeline for its anti-inflammatory effect, which develops over the following hours and continues working for 24 to 48 hours after the injection.

Taking two NSAIDs at the same time, including ibuprofen and Toradol together, is not recommended as it increases the risk of gastrointestinal side effects without adding meaningful benefit. Let your clinician know what you have already taken today at your appointment so they can make the best decision for you.
